History & Heritage

Building a cooler without compromise.

In 2006, YETI® founders, brothers Roy and Ryan Seiders, set out to build a cooler without compromise. They were tired of handles breaking apart, latches snapping off, and lids caving in year after year. Ordinary ice chests were cutting outdoor adventures short and regularly costing money to replace.

So, they decided to create a solution — to engineer a cooler that could keep ice for days, one that was completely different than any cooler that had come before it. Cue the legendary Tundra® Cooler. It was made especially for the serious outdoor enthusiast rather than the occasional camper. One that can get dropped out of a truck, dragged through the backcountry, withstand any weather, and still be game for more.

  3. Tie-down points that work

    AnchorPoint™ Lock System and molded tie-down slots on Tundra® coolers are engineered for places where gear has to stay put. A pitching deck is one of them. Strap once, cross the Gulf, forget the cooler was there.

  • Is Schooner Supply an official YETI® dealer?

    Yes. Schooner Supply is an Authorized YETI® Dealer in the Nordics. Every YETI product we sell comes directly from YETI's distribution network, and the manufacturer's warranty applies as stated.

  • How do I know my YETI® is authentic?

    The Nordic market has counterfeits in circulation. Products bought from an authorized dealer are always genuine — you can verify this via the product's serial number, the original packaging, and the fact that the item was purchased from a YETI-approved partner. Schooner is one of those partners.

  • What's the YETI® warranty?

    YETI products carry a manufacturer's warranty, with the length varying by category. Hard coolers are covered for five years; soft coolers and drinkware, three years. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. See our YETI warranty page for full terms.

  • Can I return a YETI® product to Schooner?

    Yes. Schooner's 14-day exchange and return policy applies to YETI products just like the rest of our range. The product needs to be unused and in its original packaging.

  • Why aren't YETI® products ever on sale?

    YETI is a premium brand with manufacturer-set pricing (MAP — Minimum Advertised Price). This keeps quality and service levels consistent across every dealer and means the price you see reflects the product's real value.
