Use cases
Second helm VHF control
Flybridge boat, walkaround with aft helm, or trawler with pilot house — second station means you don't have to run to the main helm every time radio comms come in. Same DSC distress capability from either location.
Intercom between helms
Built-in intercom: press the button at remote station, base radio buzzes. Talk hands-free between stations. Useful for docking (helm + bow), passage planning (helm + nav table), and shouting-free communication in a busy harbour.
Insurance / certification
Some commercial certifications require a second VHF control point. The Raymic station meets the EN301025 requirement for redundant VHF control on commercial vessels.

Installation guide

Confirm you have a Ray63/Ray73 base unit
This is a second station ACCESSORY. You need a Ray63 or Ray73 base radio first. Other Raymarine VHF models (Ray240, RC400) use different accessories — check the model on the back of your base radio.

Plan the cable run
Standard cable included is sufficient for ~10 m base-to-station. For longer runs (flybridge to lower helm, e.g.), add the 10 m extension cable. Maximum 30 m total. Route away from engine ignition wiring (RF interference).

Mount the remote station
Cutout dimensions match standard panel mount (check the Raymarine installation guide for exact size). Use marine sealant around the cutout. Bracket-mount option available for non-flush installations.

Wire and pair
Plug the station cable into the rear of the Ray63/Ray73 base radio. Power comes from the base radio, no separate power needed. Pairing is automatic on first power-up.

Test intercom and channel sync
Press intercom button on remote — base radio rings. Talk between stations. Test channel selection from both stations. DSC distress from either station triggers the full distress sequence at base.
