Use cases

Sun and rain protection for the helm
Center-console boats run open deck — no protection for the helmsman in midday sun or sudden showers. A T-top transforms the boat into a usable platform in summer heat and shoulder-season rain. Standard on most pro fishing boats for a reason.
Integrated rod-holder fishing platform
4 rod holders in the rear cross-bar means you can troll or anchor-fish with 4 lines without buying additional gunwale holders. The T-top legs also accept clamp-on accessories — outriggers, downriggers, antenna mounts.
Foundation for retrofit upgrades
Once the T-top is installed, you can add electronics mounts (radar, antenna, spotlights), navigation lights at the height of the roof bow, and pair with a rear-mount bimini (e.g. osculati-40826) for full shade coverage from helm to transom.

Installation guide

1
Measure your console — max 1000 mm wide
This T-top is designed for center-console boats with a console up to 1000 mm wide. Measure your console at the widest point. If wider, look at a larger T-top model. The 1600 mm width gives ~300 mm clearance on each side of a 1000 mm console.
2
Plan the mount points
T-top has 4 legs that bolt to the deck or gunwale. Locate the bolt points BEFORE marking — they need to land on structural members (stringers, transom knee), not just deck core. Use a flashlight from below to identify solid mounting locations.
3
Drill and bed mounting holes
Drill the 4 mounting holes through the deck (typically Ø10–12 mm). Apply marine sealant (3M 4200 or A-Tec) into each hole — water gets into deck core through under-tightened bolts. Use stainless backing plates underneath the deck.
4
Assemble the frame on deck
Lay out the 4 legs, 2 side rails, rear bar with rod holders, and roof bow. Assemble loosely (don't torque yet) — let the frame settle into final position before tightening. The 44 mm tubes use through-bolted resin fittings.
5
Tighten and install canvas
Tighten all bolts in cross-pattern (like a car wheel) to avoid putting the frame into bind. Stretch the canvas over the roof bow, secure with the included turn-buckles. Canvas should be drum-tight — slack canvas flogs and tears in wind.
6
Annual maintenance
Rinse with fresh water at end of season. Inspect bolts for galvanic corrosion (especially where stainless meets aluminium). Spray protective wax on the powder-coat to extend life. Canvas typically lasts 5+ seasons; frame lasts decades.
