Size by use
34-46 L weekend cruiser. 58 L family cruiser. 78 L live-aboard. Bigger isn't always better; bigger = more cabinet space + more power.

Plan ventilation
Compressor needs air flow at back (50 mm min gap). Vent slots in cabinet front + back. No ventilation = compressor failure in 1-2 seasons.

Wire to house battery
Dedicated circuit: 6 mm² for 12V, 4 mm² for 24V. 15A fuse at battery. Negative to bus, not engine block.

Mount drawer-style
Drawer-style slides into the cabinet — secured with brackets at the back. Drawer-front handle for daily access.

Cool down before loading
Run empty 4-6 hours to reach operating temp. Set fridge 4°C, freezer area to -12°C. Load already-cold food only.
