Use cases

Bilge pump protection
Prevents debris and waste from clogging or damaging the impellers of bilge pumps — the most common cause of failed pump-out in the field.
Self-priming pump intake
Pairs perfectly with Osculati EUROPUMP 4-diaphragm and similar self-priming pumps used for deck wash, anchor wash and bilge applications.
Fresh water and engine cooling
Marine brass body resists corrosion in salt-water systems; suitable also for fresh-water intake and engine-raw-water cooling circuits.

Installation guide

1
Identify pump intake
Locate the suction-side hose connection of the bilge or self-priming pump. The strainer must sit upstream of the pump on the suction line.
2
Choose mounting method
Vertical model: secure with screws against the bilge transom. Horizontal model: simply press into a 1/2″ port — the thickening ring holds it in place.
3
Connect the hose
Slide the 16–19 mm (1/2″) suction hose over the strainer outlet and secure with a stainless steel hose clamp.
4
Verify orientation
Mesh side faces the water, outlet faces the pump. Keep the strainer at the lowest point reachable so it can pick up water effectively.
5
Inspect periodically
Open the bilge during routine checks and confirm the mesh is free of debris. Clean with a brush or rinse with fresh water as needed.
