Use cases

Hull-to-deck joint resealing
Annual hull-to-deck reseal: remove old sealant, prep, apply A-Tec White or Grey, tool with soapy spatula. The MS-polymer cures fast (3h porous), elastic (350% elongation), and stays watertight for years — even when GRP flexes under load.
Deck hardware bedding
Cleats, stanchions, hatches, hand-rails: bed in A-Tec for permanent waterproofing. Unlike silicone, A-Tec doesn't release a thin oily film that stops paint sticking. Removable later with TEC7 Cleaner.
Structural bonding without screws
Bond wood-to-GRP, metal-to-GRP, or trim panels without visible fasteners. 280 N/cm² tensile strength after 7 days. Apply in small dots (~50 mm spacing) for instant tack, then full strength after 24h.

Installation guide

1
Clean and prep the surface
Remove old sealant, dust, grease, salt. A-Tec adheres to clean PE/PP and wet surfaces, but a wiped & dried bond is always stronger. For galvanised/painted metal, lightly scuff first.
2
Cut the nozzle to bead width
Cut the nozzle tip at 45° for the bead size you need. Smaller bead for fine seams (5–6 mm), larger for hull-to-deck or fendering work. Cut just before applying — don't pre-cut and store.
3
Load into a cartridge gun
A-Tec is a 310 ml standard cartridge. Use a quality cartridge gun like the TEC7 Multigun for steady, controllable beads. Cheap guns leak around the plunger and burn your thumb.
4
Apply the bead
Maintain steady pressure on the trigger and a constant gun angle (around 45°). Apply in one continuous bead — restarts create air pockets. For structural bonding, apply small dots ~50 mm apart on one face.
5
Tool the bead smooth
Within 8 minutes (skin-formation time): tool the bead with a spatula or finger dipped in soapy water. Don't use solvents — they degrade the surface and trap residue. Smooth, even pressure makes a watertight seal.
6
Allow to cure before stress
Functional strength: 3 hours on porous surfaces, 6 hours on non-porous (GRP, metal, plastic). Full cure ~24 hours. Don't load the joint mechanically before functional strength is reached. Warmer ambient = faster cure.
