Use cases

Automated bilge pumping
Electronic sensor activates the pump only when water is present — no float switch to stick, no false starts, no manual intervention required.
Maintenance-free retrofit
All three components (strainer + check valve + auto switch) ship as one sealed unit. Saves wiring effort and reduces failure points on refit jobs.
GULPER IC pump pairing
Designed and tested with WHALE GULPER IC bilge pump line — watertight plug-and-play, no extra cabling needed.

Installation guide

1
Choose mounting location
Place the strainer at the lowest reachable point in the bilge so it can pick up water effectively. Vertical port orientation is preferred.
2
Connect to the GULPER IC pump
Mate the watertight plug from the strainer assembly to the matching socket on the GULPER IC bilge pump (16.156.99 / 16.157.x).
3
Route the 4 m cable
Run the supplied 4 m cable from the strainer to the pump location. Avoid tight bends and secure cable away from sharp edges and heat sources.
4
Wire to 12V or 24V supply
The IC switch auto-detects voltage; no jumper or configuration required. Use a dedicated breaker sized to the pump current draw.
5
Test the automatic cycle
Add bilge water until the sensor triggers — verify the pump starts within seconds and stops cleanly once water drops below the sensor. Repeat to confirm reliability.
